It is with a heavy heart that I share this news with our members. Mark Gayhart, Chairman of our Board of Directors passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 at the age of 50. Leaving behind his wife Janie and 7 children, 5 of whom still live at home in Chrisney. Please keep his family in your prayers.
Mark joined our board in 2003. He served as our Chairman in 2009 and then took on the role again in 2011. He was also a member of the Lincolnland Economic Development Board and SWIRCA
Mark was a 25 year employee of Vectren and SIGECO, and most recently served as director of business process planning and measurement.
Mark was very dedicated to his family, his church and his community. He worked very hard in his role as Chairman and was very interested in the future of Spencer County. We at the chamber have not only lost a great leader, but a wonderful friend.
